Results for Donnington Grove Golf Club Event

Thanks all for attending the Farnham golf society event at the Worplesdon golf club on Friday 17th August. Dry conditions and softish greens enabled players to hit more accurate shots than usual.
Congratulations to Lewis Langley who won with a spirited 37 points with Sam Thompson coming in second (again) on countback. You can see the mughot here. Longest drive went to Billy Lewington and Kirk Stoll won nearest the pin. Pink ball went to Terry Leader with a wrist breaking 21 points.
The detailed results and financials can be seen in the members area. Your best 4 rounds for the overall championship are now shown and the 3’s competition has a two way tie at the top.

The starting line up for the Oxfordshire will be determined by your placing, with the lowest point scorers out first and the leading fourball out last.

Lewis will be Captain for the last event this year at The Oxfordshire Golf Club on Friday 21st September. Currently I know of only one player (Chris Ungaretti) who cannot play.

Please let me know by Wednesday 12th September if you cannot play and if you can play, it’s also our annual ‘Bring a Guest’ day, so let me know how many guest places you require.

As there has been no discussion about the proposed mandatory golf handicaps for next year, I would welcome your feedback on that point and any other points you wish to raise at the annual AGM which will be held after play at The Oxfordshire.

I’ll see you all on the 21st.

  1. Having official handicaps approved via the scorecard website should stop all the whinging (well nearly all) about whether people are playing off a fair handicap. I am happy to sort all of the scorecards and register all the members who do not have an official handicap, all I will need is a mere £15 per person.
