AGM
It was agreed that:
Subs will go up to £40, of which £4 from each member would go to the 3’s competition as a cash prize (1st and second place) and £6 from each member would go towards an end of season prize fund or curry fund;
Nick would be responsible for booking courses, communication with gold clubs and for the general herding of cats. I have sent Nick all the relevant details/passwords/admin rights to enable him to do this;
New members were discussed and it was agreed that any new members would start with a handicap of 18;
All members agreed that mandatory handicaps were beneficial for non club handicap players and Phil is kindly in charge of the online handicap system. Members paid the £15 charge for this service;
Terry raised the point that he is useless with technology, so I have messaged him this morning with his website username/password again and sent him a link to the WhatsApp FGS group!
6 Courses were voted in for next year (you can see them in the 2019 tab on the Overall Results excel file)

With no other business raised, we all finished our beers and left the building.

The starting line up for the Oxfordshire will be determined by your placing, with the lowest point scorers out first and the leading fourball out last.

Lewis will be Captain for the last event this year at The Oxfordshire Golf Club on Friday 21st September. Currently I know of only one player (Chris Ungaretti) who cannot play.

Please let me know by Wednesday 12th September if you cannot play and if you can play, it’s also our annual ‘Bring a Guest’ day, so let me know how many guest places you require.

As there has been no discussion about the proposed mandatory golf handicaps for next year, I would welcome your feedback on that point and any other points you wish to raise at the annual AGM which will be held after play at The Oxfordshire.

I’ll see you all on the 21st.

We have been kindly offered a 20% discount code to use on a website called Druh who sell golf gear (even though their logo looks like a big cock!): https://druhbeltsuk.co.uk/. Enter the code ‘FARNHAMGS’ when prompted during checkout.

Phil has proposed that golf handicaps become mandatory for next year, which I second. An official handicap through Elite golf solutions will cost you a mere £15. This only applies to players with no official handicap. This will help to make the scoring and handicap system for 2019 more accurate, fair and transparent.

Hope to see you all at the next event and if you know now that you cannot make it, please let me know in plenty of time please.
