About Farnham Golf Society
We are newly formed as a golf society, however it’s membership is a continuation of the successful Ballwick golf society which was formed in 1975. The golf society has played golf courses all over the local Surrey and Hampshire area. All levels of golfers are welcome and we have no golf handicap requirements in order to join the society. We like to think that we achieve a balanced mixture of a friendly social meeting of likeminded golfers spiced up with a healthy level of competition.
The aim of the Farnham Golf society is to meet six times a year and play the best golf courses. We look for golf courses with the best facilities and friendly, welcoming environments in Surrey and Hampshire areas. We have no age limits and no need for an official handicap. We do base our monthly competitions using the stableford points system and we will allocate one to new members based on their ability. We do also have a system of handicap adjustments based on the overall stableford points scored after each round.
We are a non profit organisation, all membership subscriptions and golf day fees we receive are spent on green fees, prizes and catering. We only retain a small working capital which is used for buying prizes and making deposits to golf courses. The aim of Farnham golf society is to get the best value for money for our members and based on the 2019 diary and pricelist, we feel we’ve certainly done very well. Breakfast and 18 holes on a top golf course is capped at only £60 for members.
For the 2019 season membership is £40. For society event timetables, please see the Diary of Events page. If you would like a chat about any aspects of our society, please fill in the contact form and we’ll get in touch.
